Am I the only one who thinks America has misplaced it's self? I've spent a lot of hour on forums discussing personal finance and political influence on the economy. I'm discouraged at the amount of people who think they are intitled to government assistance, beit through bailout or subsidy or job security.
Nobody blinks an eye when they hear millions and even billions are being spent on rediculous programs. They think they can stimulate the economy by robbing our children and grandchildren, without their voices being heard. This is not the country our forefathers established.
Why are we not building nuclear plants and oil refineries in order to stimulate growth, job creation and energy independence? Why are we pumping billions into big banks who manage it like the government? Why are we bailing out the auto industry so union workers can keep their oversized benefits? Why is our government even discussing the idea of national healthcare?
The government cannot do the job. It is too corrupted by lobbyist. Why is no one sceptical that our president recieved around 600 million dollars to get a 400k job? Is there really nothing wrong with this?
IMO, the government needs to step aside and let Capitalism do its job. We need to deregulate the energy business, stop the idiotic bailouts, stop all creation of government programs, downsize government to national infrastructure and defense, slowly begin to payoff the national debt and remove every single Congressman & Senator in the next two years with newly established term limits on all of them. Enough is enough, what say you?
